On August 2, the Neon Esquire team was a part of an exciting event with Meet Minneapolis and the World Education Conference. The three-day event brought together over 2,000 event planners from around the world to share ideas, network and get to know Minneapolis, with "City by Nature" being the overall theme.

Neon Esquire was tapped to produce a runway show as part of the Opening Reception which featured five local designers (see all the looks we produced for the "City by Nature" look book here). The show took place as guests walked through a massive tented event space which featured different themed areas pertaining to Minneapolis arts, entertainment and tourism. Neon Esquire's area was "Parks to Prada."

The day started with all 12 Ignite models getting their hair and makeup done at HAUS Salon. Led by creative director, Charlie Brackney, the HAUS team did a fantastic job working with Neon Esquire to bring the City by Nature theme and look book photos to life on the runway.

Models in Fall/Winter looks sported variations of bold berry colored lips with flushed cheeks to invoke the look Mother Nature imparts on Minnesota residents in the cooler months. Spring/Summer models featured bronzed faces and sun-kissed cheeks accentuated by bright pink lips as if the ladies spent the day at the lake. The seasonal inspiration continued with the model's hair where HAUS created three distinct looks: whimsy with intricate braids, sexy with brushed out curls and and sophistication with slicked back sides.

Next, the models and our team were whisked away to Mill City Ruins to get ready for the runway show. But first...a group shot on the way to the event!

As the event got underway, models displayed several of the designers' looks in picture frames which greeted guests as they entered the space and moved from tent to tent. The designers stood with their model/look to field questions from the international audience about the inspirations behind their designs and where to buy their pieces.

Throughout the night, two runway shows took place as guests moved around the area tasting an endless amount of food and drinks and dancing to the sounds of DJ Shannon Blowtorch. It was great to see people react to the different looks and talent of our local designers as the models worked the runway. There were pieces representing each of the four seasons of Minnesota and guests were able to see the versatility of style and high caliber of talent we have in this state. Guests got the message: we don't need to sacrifice fashion for function despite our sometimes severe weather.
